我们生活在地球上，但是地球位于太阳系中，在这里太阳是绝对的“权威”，各个天体都受到太阳引力等方面的主导，地球上生命的生存和发展，仰赖的也是太阳的光辉，太阳的光度、太阳风等都有可能对人类乃至地球生命产生较大的影响，所以对于太阳的研究、对于太阳系空间天气的了解和预报也至关重要，也是当今科技领域的一个重大前沿课题。

今年7月份，位于我国四川省甘孜州稻城县的圆环阵太阳望远镜投入使用，313台6米直径形似锅盖的天线均匀分布于直径1000米的圆环上，将用来观测太阳耀斑和日冕物质抛射过程产生的射电辐射，研究太阳耀斑爆发过程和机理，判断日冕物质抛射的速度和方向，既可以研究太阳自身的运作机理，也可以预测是否会产生较大影响的空间天气事件。

2021年10月14日，我国在太原卫星发射中心采用长征二号丁运载火箭发射了首颗太阳探测科学技术试验卫星“羲和号”。该星重约508千克，运行于高度为517千米的太阳同步轨道上，它可以实现国际首次太阳Hα波段光谱成像的空间探测，填补太阳爆发源区高质量观测数据的空白，提高我国在太阳物理领域研究能力等，根据相关探测，目前已取得初步的研究成果。

2022年10月，我国又发射了“夸父一号”太阳探测卫星，它就是一座天基太阳天文台，将重点观测太阳的“一磁两暴”，即太阳磁场、耀斑爆发和日冕物质抛射，帮助科学家探索三者的起源和相互之间可能存在的因果关系。

今年9月14日，在上海召开的第十届航天技术创新国际会议上又有消息传出，我国将开展“羲和二号”日地L5太阳探测工程，下一步就将研制羲和二号太阳观测卫星。

这颗卫星比较特殊，它发射升空后不是在地球附近轨道上探测太阳，而是飞往1.5亿公里外的日地拉格朗日L5点上运行，从侧面观察太阳以及太阳风对地球的影响。

日地拉格朗日L5点位于地球运行轨道的前方，地球与日地L5点的距离与地球到太阳的距离差不多，基本都是1.5亿公里左右，探测器飞到这里需要几个月的时间，目前这个位置上还没有探测器等航天器运行，所以我国的羲和二号届时或将开创人类探测器首次到达日地L5点运行的创举。

“羲和二号”日地L5太阳探测工程由中国气象局、南京大学、中国航天科技集团有限公司上海航天技术研究院等单位联合提出。目前还处于论证阶段，具体要打造成什么样的一台仪器还没有详细设计，考虑到它是要发往日地L5点并长期驻守在那里，那么它必然是一台长航时的监测卫星，工作时它与地球和太阳基本形成一个等边三角形，非常有利于从日地的侧面观测太阳，以及观测太阳到地球的空间距离上发生了什么。

所以，届时它的工作状态就如同监测地球天气状况的气象卫星一样，可以监测太阳到地球的空间距离上的太阳系天气状况，为地球预报准确的太阳风大小及到达时间等，可以提前4~5天预报，方便人类做一些相应的准备。这也就是说我们不只是监测和预报地球表面的天气了，还要监测和预报太阳系空间天气，其实这一项目的提出者中有中国气象局，也正说明它是和太阳系空间天气观测和预报有关的。

“羲和二号”配合羲和号太阳观测卫星以及位于我国的圆环阵太阳望远镜等，还将可以详细构建太阳表面活动以及太阳风的三维立体图像，深入探索太阳活动区磁场的起源和演化，揭示日冕、耀斑等形成的物理机制，为太阳科学研究助力。

中国科学院院士、南京大学方成教授称“羲和二号”已有初步的论证方案，目前计划争取于2026年左右发射至日地L5点，相信它会给日地空间天气预报带来革命性突破。
